Just a couple of hands after his flopped set of fives was run down by Sandy Ferguson in a huge pot that left him with just a few big blinds, John Germano put his last 27,000 in from the small blind after a raise by Ferguson.
Ronald Kaepernick called in the big blind, as did Ferguson.
On the flop, Kaepernick led out for 25,000 and Ferguson folded.

Germano had flopped top pair, leaving Germano needing an ace to survive.
The board completed , bringing Germano no help and sending him to the rail.
With his elimination, just 20 players remain as what will likely be the final break of the day approaches.

Following a pair of early position limps, Charles Gudaitis moved all in for 115,000 from the cutoff.
Sandy Ferguson re-jammed for about 250,000 and the limpers folded.

John Germano raised to 15,000 in early position and was called by Ronald Fienberg in the hijack.
On the flop, Germano continued for 25,000 and Fienberg moved all in for just under 100,000.
Germano made the call and had been trapped preflop.

Picking action up on a flop of with 50,000 in the middle, Linda Rodrigues bet 25,000 from the big blind.
Paul Kassella then moved all in for 167,500 from middle position, which sent Rodrigues into the tank.
She had been steadily building a big stack all day long but was now facing a decision that could potentially put a huge dent in it.
After a couple of minutes in the tank, Rodrigues opted to preserve her chips and fold, sending a sizeable pot to kassella.
As blinds get huge and play approaches just three tables left, decisions at each table are getting more and more important with just 15 players today advancing to Day 2 and making the money.

In action from the feature table, Tuan Phan raised in late position and got jammed on by Rafael Alvarez in the big blind to the tune of 46,500. Phan happily called.

There was about 20,000 in the middle on a turn board of when Joy Matinek checked in middle position to her opponent in late position.
He bet 10,000 and Martinek moved all in for 37,500. Her opponent happily called and thought he had knocked out Martinek as he showed his for a turned flush.
Martinek however turned over for a turned full house to leave him drawing dead as she boosts her stack into six figures as the field is now down to five tables.

While the BPO Florida World Championship continues, across the room, the Charity Series of Poker "Folding for the Families" event is underway.
The winner of this tournament receives $5,000, plus there are ten bounties in the field including Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi.
All public donations go to benefit Folded Flag, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the U.S. military by aiding the families of fallen servicemen and women with financial support for continued education.
